Maribel Martinez was born in Rio Piedra, Puerto Rico and her childhood summers were spent in Santo Domingo embraced by the merengue and bachata.

After graduating from Florida International University with her BFA in Theatre, she moved to New York City. Her acting credits include her one woman show Through the Window: The Life and Unfortunate End of Ana Mendieta, a movement and poetry infused piece based on the life of the Cuban artist; Blithe Spirit (Ruth); A Lie of the Mind (Meg); Pericles (Dionyza); Asylum (Alice); and most recently The Gallery Player's production of Superhero Blues (Beth).  Maribel is very excited about the production of  work of HOW WE ARE CONNECTED - The Caribbean as it reminds her of her love of those islands.
