Lena-Marie Gilbert is an actress who was born and raised in Bronx, New York.

She styled herself as a "shy and introverted" girl when growing up and performing gave her a chance to come out of her shell. Her family always encouraged her to strive for the things that make her happy while putting education first and she has since received several performing arts awards.

After graduating high school with honors, she decided to stay in the city to study theater at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. At Tisch, she studied various acting techniques and performed in numerous student films and student produced plays. During her time at New York University, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Accra, Ghana where she interned at the National Theatre of Ghana. During her five month stay in Ghana, she had a role in the play "Cinderama" and the title role in the radio play, "Sister".

Lena says that some of her favorite New York places where she has performed are, La Mama ETC, Ars Nova, The Brecht Forum, Joe's Pub and even a parking lot in the Lower East Side. Since graduating from New York University this year, she has been involved in different stage readings and workshops for new plays. She has found that she has a new love for writing and developing children's theater.
