Stephanie Shipp was born in the town of Lautzenhausen, Germany with family ancestry from Guyana. Stephanie spent the first 13...

years of her life living and traveling across Europe, which exposed her at an early age to the culture and theatre in Europe.

She received her MFA from Columbia University where she studied with Voice and Acting Professor, Kristin Linklator, Voice Professor, Andrea Haring and Acting Professors, Andrei Serban and Niky Wolcz. In 2007, Stephanie returned to Europe, where she collaborated and performed in the Lhotakova & Soukup production of  ‘Beethoven, Live in Prague’ at Divaldo Archa and at New York's PS122. She has performed in the OBIE AWARD WINNING Hoi Polloi Co. production ‘All Hands’, as well as in the Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Das Rheingold’.  Further credits include East River Commedia's, ‘Automotive, A Couple of Poor Polish-Speaking Romanians’ and the ‘Gospel of St. Matthew’ at the Underground Zero Festival.  Stephanie will also be appearing at The Metropolitan Opera in Spring 2013.
